🎙️ Welcome, honored listeners, to Season 2 and another  riveting episode of the Mind Sensei Podcast! 🥋

Welcome back to *The Mind Sensei* podcast! I’m your host, Peter Tas, and I couldn’t be more excited to close out Season 2 with a truly inspiring guest.

Over the next three episodes, we’ll be diving deep with none other than Jamie Seabrook, a powerhouse in both the martial arts and academic worlds. This is a special three-part series, dedicated to exploring the fascinating layers of Jamie's journey, expertise, and enduring passion for martial arts and beyond.

Jamie Seabrook has been a dedicated student of Kenpo Karate since 1985, achieving the remarkable rank of 9th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo. His dedication to martial arts is nothing short of extraordinary. In addition to his achievements in Kenpo, Jamie holds a Black Belt in Modern Arnis under Grandmaster Remy Presas and a Black Belt in Black Dragon Kung Fu under Master Paul Chau.

His pursuit of mastery didn’t stop there—since 2012, Jamie has been training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, studying under renowned instructors Rener and Ryron Gracie. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame in 2000 and now serves as the Canadian Director for the Phasic Kombatives Kenpo Alliance, led by Master Todd Durgan.

Jamie’s impact extends beyond his martial arts academy, Seabrook Martial Arts Academy, in London, Ontario, where he has taught since 1995. For over two decades, Jamie has mentored students who are already Black Belts, teaching both in-person and online, with students joining internationally to learn from his unique and insightful approach.

But Jamie’s influence goes far beyond the dojo. Outside of martial arts, Jamie is a devoted husband and father. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and is a Full Professor at Western University, with research dedicated to understanding the social factors that shape child health disparities. His work as a scientist and professor has a profound impact on public health, influencing the field and improving lives through his research.

Join me as we unpack the incredible life and experiences of Jamie Seabrook in this special series. We’ll dive into his martial arts journey, his dedication to his students, and the remarkable work he’s doing to improve the well-being of future generations. This is a conversation you won’t want to miss!

Welcome to another episode of the Mind Sensei Podcast, where we dive deep into the minds and experiences of some of the most fascinating and accomplished individuals. I’m your host, Peter Tas, and today, I’m thrilled to introduce a very special guest, someone whose life story is as inspiring as it is formidable—Mr. Marcus Buonfiglio. This episode marks the beginning of an in-depth, three-part series dedicated to exploring Marcus’s extraordinary journey and the powerful insights he’s gained along the way.

Born to a US Air Force Master Sergeant and an English mother, Marcus’s early years involved constant relocation, a lifestyle that shaped his resilience and taught him to stand up for himself. After high school, his path led him to American Kenpo, where he began training under the esteemed Mr. John Sepulveda in 1980. Over a 14-year competitive career, Marcus not only earned his 3rd-degree black belt but also took home numerous Grand Champion titles, proving his dedication and skill in the martial arts arena.

In 1994, Marcus pivoted to focus on the combative aspects of Kenpo, training under Grandmaster Michael Robert Pick and eventually achieving an 7th-degree black belt. His expertise extended into knife and pistol combat, and he’s imparted this knowledge to elite military and law enforcement personnel, including the US Army’s 10th Special Forces Group.

Marcus’s legacy as a teacher and innovator includes founding Modern American Warrior, the American Kenpo Fighting System, and co-founding Critical Distance Combatives—all programs that blend Kenpo with modern combative techniques and close-quarter defense. He’s also a sought-after speaker on predator awareness and sociopathic behavior, lending his insights to help communities stay safe.

In this three-part series, we’ll journey through Marcus’s life and philosophy—from his early days and martial arts career to his deep knowledge of personal safety and predator awareness. Whether you’re a martial artist, a personal safety enthusiast, or someone eager to learn from a true warrior, this series will be filled with invaluable lessons.

So, without further ado, let’s welcome Mr. Marcus Buonfiglio to the Mind Sensei Podcast.
